Dean Ambrose is getting a live mic tonight. I'm assuming a lot of the Internet nerds are tuning in.
3 Hours of Ryback? God Help Us All
We opened with Ryback taking on Titus O'Neil. Ryback dominated. Titus asked for a timeout but Ryback clotheslined him on the floor. Darren Young grabbed Ryback's foot to distract him and Titus hit his sit down power bomb but Ryback kicked out at one. Titus went for it again but Ryback blocked it and threw Titus into Young on the apron. Ryback hit the Meat Hook Clothesline and Shell Shocked for the win.
After the match, Ryback said he was going to stay in the ring until either C.M. Punk, the NXT guys, or all four of them came out.
Segment Analysis: I hate that the Prime Time Players are being jobbed out already. And I just talked about my hope for the tag team division. Survey Says: 1.5/5
Back from break, Ryback was still in the ring. Security came out. Ryback tossed one guy over the ropes. Vickie came out. She said she would not let Ryback hold the show hostage. Ryback said he was not leaving until he got his WWE Title match with Punk at TLC. Vickie agreed, but Ryback told her to shut up and that he was not done speaking. Ryback said he wanted Punk in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match. Vickie agreed as long as he agreed to leave the ring. Ryback scared off security.
Segment Analysis: Ryback in a Ladder Match? HAHAHA. Unless he does a 450 splash off the ladder.
No One Wants To Kiss Rosa? WHAT?
Backstage, Rosa yelled at Hornswoggle for spraying him with water. He said no one would ever want to kiss her. Alberto del Rio said he would get revenge, but Great Khali stopped him. Back from break, Great Khali and Alberto del Rio were already fighting. After a couple of Khali slaps, Del Rio took out Khali's legs and started working over his arm. Del Rio charged at Khali but he caught him with an elbow and boot. Khali hit his chop, but Ricardo distracted Khali. Hornswoggle bit Ricardo in the butt, allowing Del Rio to kick Khali's arm and apply the cross armbreaker for the win.
Segment Analysis: Hey, at least Del Rio didn't lose. Not like the match or the win really does anything for him anyways. Nor does pairing Rosa with him. Survey Says: 2/5
Backstage, Punk complained about being put in a match with Ryback. He said it was Punk 2, Ryback 0. Heyman said it was politics and she is biased against Punk. Vickie said it was because of the results of Hell In A Cell and Survivor Series. Vickie said Punk will face either Daniel Bryan or Kane, whichever wins the RAW Active Poll.
A Shield Of Injustice
Michael Cole did a sit down interview with Ambrose, Rollins, and Reigns. Cole asked if they were working for Punk. Ambrose said no. Cole asked why they were here. Rollins said everyone has to answer to the WWE Universe. Rollins said they were a Shield of Injustice in the WWE. Ambrose said that they did it because what Ryback is doing is wrong. Cole asked for Roman Reings opinion. He said that when he has an opinion he will say it. Ambrose said that they were there to stop the injustice that is going on in the WWE. They were The Shield of Injustice. Reigns said that they've said enough, and they left.
Segment Analysis: I liked that sit down interview. Ambrose was very smooth in his delivery and I liked his delivery at the end where he said they weren't the nWo or the Nexus. They showed no affiliation with anyone as of yet, and left a lot of questions unanswered. I'm okay with that. Leave the viewers asking more questions. Survey Says: 3/5
Tamina defeated Alicia Fox.
High School Drama!
Cena said that he's never been as interrogated in his ten years he's been with the WWE as he has this past week. Vickie came out and said that everything from last week shows that they have been having an affair. Vickie got Cena and A.J. matching bath robes. Vickie said that she can't wait until A.J. brings Cena's world crashing down. Vickie ran through A.J.'s affairs with Daniel Bryan, C.M. Punk and Kane. A.J. came out. She said she is trying to become a better person. She thanked Vickie for getting her removed as GM. She said she can do whatever she wants. She stroked Cena and spanked Cena's ass. Vickie told them to stop. A.J. said there was only one female dog in the ring right now.
Dolph Ziggler came out. He said he apologized for breaking up this episode of the Jerry Springer show. He said the real story is that he put John Cena through a bathroom stall last week. Ziggler then asked why Cena had to go through such cowardly tactics on Smackdown. Ziggler said that it was because while she was kissing Cena, she was thinking of him the whole time. Cena said that he would go shove that briefcase down his throat. Vickie made Cena vs Ziggler for later.
Segment Analysis: This could not get any worse if the WWE tried. But no wait, it has. Instead of the WWE saving Ziggler/Cena for a PPV, we get it unannounced on RAW tonight. That is pretty dumb on their part. Segment Analysis: 1.5/5
Tensai vs Kofi Kingston. Tensai dominated early with some headbutts and takedowns. Tensai tossed Kofi into the corner and Kofi came back with a chop off the top rope. Kofi took down Tensai and hit the Boom Drop. Tensai blocked Trouble in Paradise and hit an elbow. Kofi rolled out the ring and hit a kick then a crossbody from the top for the win. After the match, Wade Barrett came in and handed Kofi the IC Title and walked away. Nothing special to the match. Kofi and Barrett should be fun at TLC.
Kane is facing C.M. Punk later. Daniel Bryan gets to face Rey Mysterio.
These Beards Are Whack!
Bryan took down Mysterio a couple of times. Rey hurricarraned Bryan to the outside but Bryan caught Rey with a knee to the jaw. Bryan applied an armlock. Rey fought out with an elbow and then dropped Bryan into the turnbuckle. Bryan came charging back with a high knee. Back from break Rey got caught in the corner and Bryan landed some kicks. Bryan threw Rey to the outside then tossed him into the barricade. Both guys went to the top and Rey shoved Bryan off then hit a seated senton for two. Rey hit a kick to the head for another two count. Rey went for a 619 but Bryan moved and tried to apply the No Lock, but Rey got to the ropes. Rey fought out of another attempt and catapulted Bryan into the corner. Rey hit a 619 around the post and hit the splash for the win.
Match Analysis: Good match between these two. Picked up near the end. Like always, wish they could have received a bit more time. But they did good with what time they had. Survey Says: 3/5
9:45 Is The New Main Event Time Slot?
Dolph said he was in the main event of RAW. Apparently that is now at 9:45. Cena caught Ziggler early with a hip toss and arm drag. Cena hit another hip toss then a headlock takedown. Ziggler got out and hit Cena with a jaw breaker. Back from break, Cena was on the outside after Ziggler tossed him into the steps. Ziggler did some sit ups but Cena surprised him with a pin attempt for two. Dolph came right back with a clothesline then multiple elbows. After a bit of showing off Ziggler missed an elbow. Cena hit some shoulder tackles but Ziggler caught him with a kick to the head then a big DDT for two. Cena moved out of the way in the corner and Dolph went into the turnbuckle. Cena went for the STF but Ziggler escaped and applied a sleeper. Cena backed Ziggler into the corner and applied the STF. Ziggler got to the bottom rope and came back with a dropkick. Ziggler hit a dive off the top but Cena rolled through. Cena went for the AA but Dolph landed on his feet and hit a ZigZag for two. They exchanged punches and kicks. Dolph went for a roll up for two. Cena went for the "You Can't See Me" but rolled out of the ring when he tweaked his knee. Ziggler tried taking off the turnbuckle but A.J. stopped him. Vickie confronted her. Ziggler went to hit Cena with the briefcase but Cena ducked and hit the AA for the win. After the match Cena and A.J. made out.
Match Analysis: First lets point out the obvious. That was a really good match between these two. Ziggler seems like he works well with anybody that is in the ring with him. But the fact that the WWE couldn't put Ziggler over a one legged Cena is stupid. Give Ziggler a win here and make him look a bit stronger. I don't like the booking here. Survey Says: 3.5/5
Can't Have Your Faces Lose. EVER
Antonio Cesaro vs Sheamus. They exchanged punches a couple of times in the corner. Sheamus hit a suplex. Sheamus dropped Cesaro's neck on the ropes, but Cesaro drop kicked Sheamus off the apron. Sheamus tossed Cesaro into the barricade. Sheamus was going back up the steps until Cesaro pulled his feet out from under him. Back from break Cesaro hit a couple clotheslines then some uppercuts with Sheamus in the ropes. Sheamus came back with a shoulder to the gut and his rope punches. Sheamus hit a shoulder tackle then the Irish Curse backbreaker for two. Sheamus went for the Cloverleaf but Cesaro got to the ropes. Cesaro hit a backdrop on Sheamus for two. Sheamus went to the top rope for the battering ram but Cesaro caught him with a great upper cut. Cesaro went for the Neutralizer but Sheamus countered with a back drop and then hit a Brogue Kick knocking Cesaro out of the ring. Sheamus won by countout.
Big Show came out. Sheamus said if he is going to come out with a chair, he better use it. Sheamus said he would show Big Show what barbaric was when he got a chair in his hands. Big Show pulled apart the chair.
Match Analysis: Once again, another great match. Cesaro looked impressive yet again. But once again, you can't have Sheamus lose a match. I don't care if Cesaro wasn't pinned. He still lost. And it is dumb of the WWE to not let their young guys win matches against their top stars. Survey Says: 3.5/5
Damien Sandow defeated Zack Ryder. Basic TV Match.
At Least The Table Was Not Harmed This Week
C.M. Punk vs Kane. Punk chopped Kane but he no sold it. Kane tossed Punk into the corner and hit some kicks. Punk caught Kane with a kick. Punk went for a headlock but Kane dropped him on the ropes and hit a boot, knocking him to the outside. Back from break, Punk had control and worked over Kane's legs. Punk dropped Kane's neck on the ropes then hit a dive to the outside. Punk was favoring his knee and the announcers pointed it out. Punk hit a couple of running high knees in the corner, but Kane caught him during the third attempt with an upper cut. Kane went to the top and hit a clothesline. Punk ducked a clothesline attempt and hit a swinging neckbreaker for two. Punk went for a springboard clothesline but Kane caught him and hit a chokeslam. Heyman pulled Punk to the ropes, blocking a pin attempt. Kane went for a Tombstone, but he noticed the members of The Shield coming to ringside. This allowed Punk to hit the GTS for the win.
After the match The Shield slowly walked into the ring. They made it seem like they would attack Punk but they went after Kane. Daniel Bryan tried making the save but The Shield took him out too. Ryback came out and took out the Shield. Punk came in to go after Ryback. Ryback went to powerbomb Punk but Reigns took him out with a Spear. The Shield left the ring as Punk stood tall again over Ryback.
Segment Analysis: Another decent match on this week's RAW, and at least the WWE booked this one right with Punk going over. I was really nervous at the end there with Ryback starting to get the better of The Shield, but thankfully things were righted in the end. It seems like they are going with The Shield and Punk joining forces, but they are just taking their time getting there. Hopefully they don't take too long and lose fan interest. Survey Says: 3/5
OVERALL
There were three good matches on tonight's show. I enjoyed all the in ring action that was on this show. It was definitely a change of pace from what RAW has been in recent weeks. Was it a coincidence that Vince McMahon wan't on the show? Cesaro and Ziggler all showed their potential in the ring. But again, the ending of both of those matches showed what is wrong with the WWE. They can't let Dolph Ziggler go over a one-legged John Cena. And they can't let Antonio Cesaro go over Sheamus. Why not have Big Show distract Sheamus causing him to lose? Is it that bad to have your face lose every once in a while? Sheamus has now beat Cesaro and Damien Sandow in the last two weeks. It just makes zero sense if they really want to build new stars. I also like what they have done with The Shield so far. That can't take too long to get to the point though. They did that with Nexus then they just forgot about everything. As much as the booking of tonight's show frustrated me, I still enjoyed the wrestling on it. I'm giving it a 6.
Until Next Time,
