The RAW Truth Review for 4/1/13

It's the last RAW before Wrestlemania. All of the big stars are there. And the regular roster too. Expect a promo heavy show. One last hard sell job for Wrestlemania.

MY EYES! AND EARS!
RAW started with John Cena in his way too bright yellow shirt. Cena took in all the boos. He said he stands in the middle of a house divided, full of Cenacrats and Rockpublicans. He said it is no secret him and Rock don't like each other, but he respects him for being a global superstar. Last year he would have questioned Rock's allegiance to the WWE, and then Rock would crap on him and his personal life. But those childish games are over. The Rock has done every single thing he said he was going to do. This Sunday he steps into the ring with who he believes is the greatest WWE Champion of all time. The Rock is the great one but he will fall. Rock's time is up and his time is now. Cena said he had to deal with his Wrestlemania loss for a year. He watched Rock usher in a new era with a new WWE Title. Cena said at Wrestlemania he will end The Rock's era. Rock will experience failure and have to deal with the fact that the Title made for him will be defended by Cena. Boring chants broke out in the crowd. Cena said holding that Title will show that he is better than The Rock. Cena ended by saying "The Champ is here."

The RAW Truth Review for 3/25/13

We have two RAWs left before Wrestlemania, and the WWE really has to step up their game. The Rock will be there tonight, so I would expect the Rock/Cena program to get the majority of the attention tonight. Sit back and enjoy!

Heyman to Punk: TOUCHDOWN
CM Punk came out with Paul Heyman carrying the urn. Heyman threw a pass with the urn to Punk in the ring from the apron. Punk said everyone says the Undertaker can't be beaten at Wrestlemania. They say no one can stop the Deadman. But Punk said "they" don't know what they are talking about. But they are irrelevant. Punk said everything should have ended at last year's Wrestlemania, with Undertaker, HHH and Shawn Michaels walking into the sunset. But Taker had to come out on Punk's show and point at his sign. Punk said the urn means nothing to him and threw it on the ground. He said he knows he will beat The Streak and he has something Taker wants. And Taker is at a psychological disadvantage. Punk said Taker could have fought any other man and had his Streak continue, but he had to choose Punk. And Punk is the one to end the Streak. Punk said at Wrestlemania, the Undertaker's perfect record will Rest in Peace.

Suddenly the lights went out and Taker went to town on Punk, landing multiple punches in the corner before Punk escaped with the urn.

The WWE RAW Truth Review for 3/18/13

Tonight, Triple H responds to Brock Lesnar's challenge. We also see the continuation of the Undertaker/CM Punk feud. Will Undertaker actually say something tonight? Read along to find out!

Apparently, the Prime Time Players Should Be Main Eventing Wrestlemania
RAW started with John Cena in a new obnoxiously bright yellow shirt. Cena said the crowd seems like there are some Rock fans and Cena fans in the crowd. Cena said once again, that "Our Time is Now." Cena said he is more focused than ever. Randomly, Darren Young and Titus O'Neil came out. O'Neil was in an afro and cover alls. O'Neil said his name is Rufus Pancake Patterson, and they call him that because he flattens fools. Cena said he thinks O'Neil needs some medication. O'Neil said the only medication needed is the Prime Time Players. O'Neil said no one wants to see Cena at Wrestlemania, they want to see the Prime Time Players. O'Neil said he would have no problem tearing Cena limb from limb, but his gout is flaring up. Darren Young, however, would have no problem doing that. Young said after the match, Cena would be crying on the ramp just like at last year's Wrestlemania. Cena got serious and said he will show Young that he is ready for Wrestlemania.

Yes, I'm Talking About A John Cena Heel Turn

It is the age old question brought up by wrestling fans. I'm pretty sure it is brought up every month and about 30 times a year by wrestling fans. It is the one thing we would love to see in the WWE, but it never seems to happen. And of course, that question is: Will John Cena Turn Heel?

There are pros and cons to this argument. Lets look at the pros first. Obviously, it would bring a new dimension to John Cena's character. Cena has been stale for about the last five years. He hasn't changed anything with his character. He has the same offensive move set he's had. He's added the hurricarrana to his move set, but he can barely pull it off. I'm not saying he would all of the sudden become a better wrestler by turning heel. But heel's can work differently in the ring compared to faces.

The WWE RAW Truth Review for 2/25/13

Tonight's RAW has a lot of hype around it. We get C.M. Punk vs John Cena, Vince McMahon vs Paul Heyman, and the fallout from the Jack Swagger/Zeb Colter/Glenn Beck happenings. Expect the course for Wrestlemania to be set after tonight.

WE'RE GONNA FIGHT!!!
Vince McMahon walked to the ring on crutches. Vince said he likes to do things big, so why not start RAW with a fight. Paul Heyman came down the ramp. He said he's waited his entire life for this fight. Vince has always thought of Heyman as a wuss, but Heyman said he is all man. He said Vince has as much a chance of beating him as Tony Romo does the Super Bowl. Heyman asked Vince if he was sure he wanted to do this. But before Vince could answer, Heyman hit him with a Spear and then a crutch to the leg. Vince blocked another crutch shot and hit Heyman with it. Brock Lesnar suddenly came out. Before Brock could attack Vince, HHH came out. Hunter and Lesnar brawled on the outside. HHH threw Brock into the post and Brock got busted open hardway. HHH clotheslined Brock over the barricade. Lesnar came back and threw HHH on the announce table. HHH came back with a chair shot in the ring as Lesnar retreated,

The RAW Truth Review for 2/4/13

Our WWE Champion may not be on the show tonight. That doesn't help Rock's popularity backstage or with the fans. Does it affect your thoughts on him?

The Real People's Champion
C.M. Punk came out and brought Justin Roberts into the ring with him. He had Roberts call him "The People's Champion." Punk said he didn't overreact last week, because no one has held anything as important as the WWE Championship. Punk said he acted like a normal person would act because he was screwed. The WWE Title was stolen from him by someone who doesn't deserve it. And now Punk said he is getting questions after last week's video of Paul Heyman. Punk asked some fans and Michael Cole if they saw him in the video last week. Cole said he wasn't. Punk said if Paul Heyman says it wasn't him then it wasn't him. Punk said Vince has the cash to hire actors to make it a fake. Vince has the money to hire actors and make a video to his liking. Punk said Vince getting his hip broke is exactly what he deserved. Punk said in two weeks he gets back what Rock stole from him, the physical belt that Rock carries around while he continues day 442 of his WWE Title reign.

Booker T came out. He stumbled over his lines. He said the WWE Universe will decide who C.M. Punk faces tonight from his past Wrestlemania opponents: Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton or Chris Jericho.

The WWE RAW Truth Review for 1/28/13

We are one hour away from RAW. Vince McMahon is giving Paul Heyman a "performance review" tonight. Why? Does Heyman answer to Vince? Who knows.

Vickie introduced the RAW Roulette wheels. There are 3. The first result: Antonio Cesaro vs Randy Orton with a special guest referee.

Hey Look, Someone Cares About Losing A Match
C.M. Punk came out in a rage. Punk said this was day 435 of his WWE Title reign. He beat The Rock and is the People's Champion. Punk asked if they really wanted to support someone who couldn't pin him without someone's help. He never needed anyone to restart a match. He called last night the Phoenix Screwjob. Punk said he is here to crash the party. Vince McMahon came out. Vince said he has tape from an anonymous source that he is complicit with Paul Heyman that they are involved with The Shield. Vince said Heyman is do for a performance review that could result in his job termination.

The RAW Truth Review for 12/10/12

C.M. Punk is injured. Which means he will probably cut a good promo from either a wheelchair or on crutches. Enjoy.

Promos On A Ladder Rarely End Well
Dolph Ziggler gave a promo from on top of the ladder. He said it won't be a merry Christmas this Sunday for John Cena. He said he will be the coal in Cena's stocking and shut Cena up. And then he is going to cash in his Money in the Bank contract and win the World Title. Sheamus came out and said he won't be cashing in his MITB contract against Big Show. It'll be against him. And he thinks Ziggler is going to lose to Cena. So somewhere down the line it will be Sheamus vs Cena. Big Show came out and said "BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH." Show dared Ziggler to try and cash in tonight. Show said he couldn't decide if he was going to KO Sheamus or knock his pasty white skin off him. Sheamus made a bad joke about Big Show's XMas spirit, then said just because he can't have contact with Big Show, doesn't mean he can't have contact with someone else. Sheamus pushed over the ladder and Ziggler crotched himself.

Segment Analysis: I liked Ziggler's part of the promo enough. And Big Show was funny when he first came out. But Sheamus was just beyond awful yet again on the mic. And did you hear the lukewarm reaction to a possible Cena/Sheamus bout. Yeah, no one wants to see that. Okay opening. Survey Says: 2.5/5

The WWE RAW Truth Review for 11/26/12

Dean Ambrose is getting a live mic tonight. I'm assuming a lot of the Internet nerds are tuning in.

3 Hours of Ryback? God Help Us All
We opened with Ryback taking on Titus O'Neil. Ryback dominated. Titus asked for a timeout but Ryback clotheslined him on the floor. Darren Young grabbed Ryback's foot to distract him and Titus hit his sit down power bomb but Ryback kicked out at one. Titus went for it again but Ryback blocked it and threw Titus into Young on the apron. Ryback hit the Meat Hook Clothesline and Shell Shocked for the win.

After the match, Ryback said he was going to stay in the ring until either C.M. Punk, the NXT guys, or all four of them came out.

Segment Analysis: I hate that the Prime Time Players are being jobbed out already. And I just talked about my hope for the tag team division. Survey Says: 1.5/5

What I'm Thankful For In The WWE

It is Thanksgiving weekend here in the United States. A time to eat some good food, gather with friends and family, and truly be thankful for everything that we have in life. With the WWE, 2012 has been a rough year. There is not a lot to like about the current product. But there have been some bright spots in the WWE this year. I wouldn't say the WWE has been a complete failure this year. There are some things to be thankful for in the WWE. As a writer and a fan, these are the things that I am thankful for.

How Many Other Things Has Big Show Done In 45 Seconds?
RAW started with the Big Show. He said the debate was an attempt to make him look foolish. Big Show said that Sheamus is trying to make him fear the Brogue Kick. But he doesn't, and they showed the replay of him blocking it last week. Show said Sheamus had the look of someone in over his head. Show then replayed the test from Smackdown. He said he is going to KO Sheamus at Hell In A Cell and become the longest reigning World Champion. Big Show said he will make people forget about his last Title reign of 45 seconds. He demanded Daniel Bryan come out. They showed Bryan backstage. He said he didn't know. A.J. came into the picture and said Big Show had a good idea and told him to get out there. He asked Kane if he had his back and he laughed.

The WWE RAW Truth Review for 10/1/12

There's a good chance John Cena won't be on this show. How will the WWE book a show without their top star? I guess we will have to tune in to find out.

More GM Power Struggles!
After recapping last week's events C.M. Punk and Paul Heyman came to the ring. He called Cena a coward for attacking him with a coward last week. Then he called Mick Foley a coward for supposedly mumbling something under his breath, hence the reason why he attacked him. Punk said he knows Mick Foley would never had said anything bad about The Rock, Steve Austin or John Cena. And that shows the lack of respect Foley has for him. Punk said that he will still not face John Cena at Hell In A Cell.

Get Out Here Scab!
RAW started with Paul Heyman and C.M. Punk in the ring. Heyman said RAW would not start until justice is served. Heyman replayed the footage of Punk's foot being on the ropes last week. Heyman invited the referee to the ring and demanded he tender his resignation. The ref came to the ring and said he made a mistake and that he feels terrible. The ref refused to resign. Punk interrupted him and said he didn't care how he feels. Punk asked how he got his job. He said when RAW expanded to 3 hours, A.J. called him and said they needed more officials. Heyman gave him a blindfold with a WWE and NFL logo and said he should wear it when he goes to sleep. Punk said A.J. should come to the ring and fire him.

WWE Night Of Champions Preview + Thoughts on Jerry Lawler

This Sunday is WWE Night of Champions. Its kind of weird talking about the PPV after the events that transpired on RAW Monday, but I will talk about that at the end today. Night of Champions is the one PPV a year where the WWE actually has to make it seem like they care about every Title they have. If the WWE actually tried to make their mid-card Titles important, then maybe this PPV would feel like a bigger deal.

But instead the show seems like a one match show. The WWE has focused their entire build of the show around C.M. Punk, John Cena and the WWE Championship. The Intercontinental and United States Championship matches weren't even announced or mentioned until the past week. I understand the gimmick of the PPV is already set in stone. But make us give a damn about the matches that will be on it. Don't just announce the matches one week in advance. A solid mid-card build can do wonders for TV and business.

The RAW Truth Review for 9/10/12

RAW is live in Montreal tonight. Bret Hart is there for the first time on WWE TV since the infamous Montreal Screwjob. So even though he has made amends with everyone involved, expect it to be brought up numerous times tonight.

I Don't Know If Even C.M. Punk Could Have Saved WCW
Bret Hart came out to a pretty loud ovation. Bret said that the last time he was in Montreal it was a pretty dark day. But Bret said it was the people of Montreal that got him through those dark days and he thanked the crowd for their support. C.M. Punk interrupted. Punk said that everything Bret Hart talked about was already overblown in his book. If he wrote a book, it would be called What If. What if C.M. Punk wrestled Bret Hart instead of Shawn Michaels. Hart said he would have beaten Punk in less than a minute. Punk said he would have beaten Bret and wouldn't have needed Vince's help. Punk said he would have changed the course of the WWE, there would be no Attitude Era, and he would have jumped to WCW. Hart said at least he showed up every night, unlike Punk last week. Punk said he was in a hurry to enjoy his day off. Punk asked if Hart asked Cena to be his white knight. Hart said he asked Cena to come out first as a show of respect. Punk said to not talk about respect, and if he knew anything about respect he wouldn't talk down to the WWE Champion. Punk said just like Cena, Bret Hart is over-rated and he will put Cena to sleep at Night of Champions. Hart said just like he is putting these fans to sleep right now. Punk said he will leave Cena a beat down shell of a man just like Bret Hart is.

The C.M. Punk-Paul Heyman Alliance: What's Next?

Okay, be honest. How many people were shouting and wooting at your television at the end of RAW on Monday. In something that happened in only the most die hard Internet wrestling fan's dreams, RAW ended with C.M. Punk driving away from a beaten John Cena, with Paul Heyman the one driving the car. I can honestly say that I never expected to see those two united together on screen. Even when Paul Heyman returned to manage Brock Lesnar, and there was talk of the two doing some work together down the line, I still wasn't expecting anything to come from it.

But those expectations changed after RAW on Monday. First off, I must say it was a smart move on the WWE's part. Monday Night Football starts next week and the WWE needed to do something to keep viewers from tuning away next week, and they did just that with the end of RAW. I never thought I would give props to the WWE for something like that, but you know they planned that out in advance.

The RAW Truth Review for 9/3/12

RAW is in Chicago tonight, which means the crowd is guaranteed to make this a good show. Why doesn't Triple H come out and give a retirement speech tonight?

After a video recap of last week's happenings, we were showed Jerry Lawler and C.M. Punk brawling backstage. Punk took out Lawler with a weak kick to the face. Lawler basically ran into Punk's foot.

You Can't Turn C.M. Punk Heel In Chicago
Sheamus came out after the usual intro. He said everytime he comes to Chicago, the party never stops. Before he could talk about Alberto del Rio, C.M. Punk interrupted. Punk told Sheamus to stop trying to talk to his hometown. Punk said this is his hometown, and they can relate to him. Punk said Lawler got exactly what he deserved, and he got it Chicago style. Punk said Lawler has been running his integrity down for weeks, and he was going to teach Jerry Lawler respect. Until John Cena came along. Punk said that by disrespecting him Cena has turned his back on the WWE Universe. Sheamus said that if Punk wants to come in here and talk about being the best in the world and demanding respect, he did the complete opposite by disrespecting the World Champion. Sheamus invited him to the ring. Punk said at best, that makes him the second best in the world, so shut your mouth. Sheamus told Punk to turn around because it sounds like he is talking to an ass. A.J. came out and made two matches: C.M. Punk vs Sheamus and John Cena vs Alberto del Rio.

The RAW Truth Review for 6/25/12

We are one hour away from another episode of RAW. John Cena is promising a huge announcement, which means it will probably be nothing like it tends to be with Cena. My guess is that he announces he will be in the WWE Championship Money in the Bank Ladder Match. I like the fact that they made the MITB Ladder Matches Title specific. The brand split is basically dead anyways so why try to hide it? Again, all I'm hoping for is something new tonight.

After a WWE Title recap, A.J. appeared to be talking to Daniel Bryan, Kane and C.M. Punk off screen. She told Bryan they have to be apart to grow as people, she called Kane a monster, and told C.M. Punk she thought it best if they go their separate ways. It was then revealed that A.J. was talking to herself in a mirror? Crazy chicks, am I right?

Skipping Never Looked So Good
After the intro Vickie Guerrero came out. She said that she knew she would be named permanent GM after her performance this week. She announced a triple threat elimination match, but didn't give any reason for it or what the winner got. Daniel Bryan came out, followed by Kane and C.M. Punk. Kane fought off both men early on. But both Bryan and Punk took Kane down with some kicks. Kane rolled to the outside and Bryan and Punk were left to go at it. Punk caught Bryan and delivered an inverted atomic drop. Kane caught Punk with an upper cut and then caught Bryan diving off the apron and slammed him into the barricade going into commercial.

A Look at This Week's WWE News 6/4/12-6/9/12

It is that time of the week again. Time to look back at this week's news in the WWE. You can expect to see these kinds of postings on a semi regular basis. Or if I don't have an idea for an original column due to writer's block. On PPV weekends you'll get a Preview and that's all. Or on weeks like this one. I started a new job this week and am still working part time at my previous job, so my postings may come at various times throughout the summer. Expect my PPV Preview to come out around Thursday next week. I will be busy almost all weekend next week from Friday through Sunday evening. But I will more than likely be covering No Way Out live next Sunday.

So with all that in mind, lets take a look at some of the WWE's happenings this week, with some of my insight added at the end.

The RAW Truth Review for 5/21/12

Another RAW, another Live Review. I must cherish these 2 hour RAWs while they last!

YELL! ANGRY WORDS! AHHHH!!!
They recapped last night's AMAZING John Cena/John Laurinaitis match with still photos of the match and children and women in horror.

John Cena came out looking pissed. Cena said he can't move on from last night and asked what the hell happened. Cena couldn't believe John Laurinaitis beat him. He called Laurinaitis a bully and he was finally getting what came to him at Over the Limit. Then Big Show knocked Cena out cold. Cena isn't happy with Big Show selling out. Cena said anyone would have hired Big Show back, but instead Show decided to sell out. Cena continued to yell and complain.
