The RAW Truth Review for 4/1/13

It's the last RAW before Wrestlemania. All of the big stars are there. And the regular roster too. Expect a promo heavy show. One last hard sell job for Wrestlemania.

MY EYES! AND EARS!
RAW started with John Cena in his way too bright yellow shirt. Cena took in all the boos. He said he stands in the middle of a house divided, full of Cenacrats and Rockpublicans. He said it is no secret him and Rock don't like each other, but he respects him for being a global superstar. Last year he would have questioned Rock's allegiance to the WWE, and then Rock would crap on him and his personal life. But those childish games are over. The Rock has done every single thing he said he was going to do. This Sunday he steps into the ring with who he believes is the greatest WWE Champion of all time. The Rock is the great one but he will fall. Rock's time is up and his time is now. Cena said he had to deal with his Wrestlemania loss for a year. He watched Rock usher in a new era with a new WWE Title. Cena said at Wrestlemania he will end The Rock's era. Rock will experience failure and have to deal with the fact that the Title made for him will be defended by Cena. Boring chants broke out in the crowd. Cena said holding that Title will show that he is better than The Rock. Cena ended by saying "The Champ is here."

The RAW Truth Review for 3/25/13

We have two RAWs left before Wrestlemania, and the WWE really has to step up their game. The Rock will be there tonight, so I would expect the Rock/Cena program to get the majority of the attention tonight. Sit back and enjoy!

Heyman to Punk: TOUCHDOWN
CM Punk came out with Paul Heyman carrying the urn. Heyman threw a pass with the urn to Punk in the ring from the apron. Punk said everyone says the Undertaker can't be beaten at Wrestlemania. They say no one can stop the Deadman. But Punk said "they" don't know what they are talking about. But they are irrelevant. Punk said everything should have ended at last year's Wrestlemania, with Undertaker, HHH and Shawn Michaels walking into the sunset. But Taker had to come out on Punk's show and point at his sign. Punk said the urn means nothing to him and threw it on the ground. He said he knows he will beat The Streak and he has something Taker wants. And Taker is at a psychological disadvantage. Punk said Taker could have fought any other man and had his Streak continue, but he had to choose Punk. And Punk is the one to end the Streak. Punk said at Wrestlemania, the Undertaker's perfect record will Rest in Peace.

Suddenly the lights went out and Taker went to town on Punk, landing multiple punches in the corner before Punk escaped with the urn.

The WWE RAW Truth Review for 3/18/13

Tonight, Triple H responds to Brock Lesnar's challenge. We also see the continuation of the Undertaker/CM Punk feud. Will Undertaker actually say something tonight? Read along to find out!

Apparently, the Prime Time Players Should Be Main Eventing Wrestlemania
RAW started with John Cena in a new obnoxiously bright yellow shirt. Cena said the crowd seems like there are some Rock fans and Cena fans in the crowd. Cena said once again, that "Our Time is Now." Cena said he is more focused than ever. Randomly, Darren Young and Titus O'Neil came out. O'Neil was in an afro and cover alls. O'Neil said his name is Rufus Pancake Patterson, and they call him that because he flattens fools. Cena said he thinks O'Neil needs some medication. O'Neil said the only medication needed is the Prime Time Players. O'Neil said no one wants to see Cena at Wrestlemania, they want to see the Prime Time Players. O'Neil said he would have no problem tearing Cena limb from limb, but his gout is flaring up. Darren Young, however, would have no problem doing that. Young said after the match, Cena would be crying on the ramp just like at last year's Wrestlemania. Cena got serious and said he will show Young that he is ready for Wrestlemania.

The RAW Truth Review for 3/11/13

After attending last week's show, I'm back this week to give a live review. Brock Lesnar will answer Triple H's challlenge. And our WWE Champ The Rock? He isn't around to build up to the main event of the biggest show of the year. Talk about a great build!

#HEEL
RAW started with a nice Paul Bearer tribute video. After that, Undertaker came down to the ring where an urn was placed. Taker kneeled down and did his pose, but CM Punk interrupted. Punk said he came out here to extend his condolences for Taker's loss, at Wrestlemania. Punk said that to Paul Bearer, Taker will always be perfect. But in four weeks, he will be 20-1. And the night after Wrestlemania, they will be playing a video about him. And 20 years from now, everyone's children and grandchildren will be asking where they were when Punk beat The Streak. Punk walked away as Taker watched on.

The WWE RAW Truth Review for 2/25/13

Tonight's RAW has a lot of hype around it. We get C.M. Punk vs John Cena, Vince McMahon vs Paul Heyman, and the fallout from the Jack Swagger/Zeb Colter/Glenn Beck happenings. Expect the course for Wrestlemania to be set after tonight.

WE'RE GONNA FIGHT!!!
Vince McMahon walked to the ring on crutches. Vince said he likes to do things big, so why not start RAW with a fight. Paul Heyman came down the ramp. He said he's waited his entire life for this fight. Vince has always thought of Heyman as a wuss, but Heyman said he is all man. He said Vince has as much a chance of beating him as Tony Romo does the Super Bowl. Heyman asked Vince if he was sure he wanted to do this. But before Vince could answer, Heyman hit him with a Spear and then a crutch to the leg. Vince blocked another crutch shot and hit Heyman with it. Brock Lesnar suddenly came out. Before Brock could attack Vince, HHH came out. Hunter and Lesnar brawled on the outside. HHH threw Brock into the post and Brock got busted open hardway. HHH clotheslined Brock over the barricade. Lesnar came back and threw HHH on the announce table. HHH came back with a chair shot in the ring as Lesnar retreated,

MY Final Wrestlemania 29 Card

We're about one month away from the start of Wrestlemania season. Usually you could say that Wrestlemania season starts with the Royal Rumble. I'm saying it starts in January this year because one of the key players in this year's Wrestlemania, The Rock, will be around in January to build to his WWE Title Match at the Royal Rumble with C.M. Punk.

If you ask me, this is a critical Wrestlemania season for the WWE. The Rock and Brock Lesnar, two stars known outside of just the world of wrestling, will be back and should bring in some more viewers. With ratings down, that could be huge. That also means it is a time for the WWE to try and make some new stars that appeal to the viewers who come back during Wrestlemania season. Make guys like Kofi Kingston, Wade Barrett and Dolph Ziggler more appealing to the casual viewer. Make them seem like interesting guys that you want to watch. That's something the WWE has never done well during Wrestlemania season. Ok, you want your top stars in the big matches. I get it. But make the undercard seem important as well.

Catching Up On Recent WWE News

So I missed out on posting last week. And I have been pretty busy the last couple weeks so it has been tough for me to dedicate a lot of time to writing. But I finally have some free time and my schedule is back to normal. But for now, it is time to play catch up with some of the recent happenings and on goings in the WWE.

-The big story is that John Cena had some surgery and may not be able to wrestle Hell In A Cell. If you go by what happened on RAW this past Monday, it appears that John Cena will be ready to go at Hell In A Cell. And if not, it honestly looks like Plan B may be Ryback. I'm curious to see where exactly this Ryback thing will go. I'm honestly surprised how over Ryback is with the fans. I was at Smackdown this week and it seemed like Ryback got one of the top 3 pops/ovations of the night. It is amazing how over he has gotten in such a short time. But even with Ryback getting over, he still can't wrestle a full match for the life of him. C.M. Punk may be good, but I don't know if even he can carry Ryabck to a good 15-20 minute match.

The RAW Truth Review for 9/3/12

RAW is in Chicago tonight, which means the crowd is guaranteed to make this a good show. Why doesn't Triple H come out and give a retirement speech tonight?

After a video recap of last week's happenings, we were showed Jerry Lawler and C.M. Punk brawling backstage. Punk took out Lawler with a weak kick to the face. Lawler basically ran into Punk's foot.

You Can't Turn C.M. Punk Heel In Chicago
Sheamus came out after the usual intro. He said everytime he comes to Chicago, the party never stops. Before he could talk about Alberto del Rio, C.M. Punk interrupted. Punk told Sheamus to stop trying to talk to his hometown. Punk said this is his hometown, and they can relate to him. Punk said Lawler got exactly what he deserved, and he got it Chicago style. Punk said Lawler has been running his integrity down for weeks, and he was going to teach Jerry Lawler respect. Until John Cena came along. Punk said that by disrespecting him Cena has turned his back on the WWE Universe. Sheamus said that if Punk wants to come in here and talk about being the best in the world and demanding respect, he did the complete opposite by disrespecting the World Champion. Sheamus invited him to the ring. Punk said at best, that makes him the second best in the world, so shut your mouth. Sheamus told Punk to turn around because it sounds like he is talking to an ass. A.J. came out and made two matches: C.M. Punk vs Sheamus and John Cena vs Alberto del Rio.

The RAW Truth Review for 8/27/12

You hear that? Those crickets? Those are all the people excited to see Triple H talk again tonight about his future in the WWE. And that will begin the rematch build between Brock Lesnar and Triple H. So you tens of you who are excited for that match, get ready!

Lawler and 14 Year Old Used In The Same Sentence? Uh Oh...
After a video recap of last week's Punk/Cena/Lawler happenings, Jerry Lawler stepped into the ring. Lawler said that out of respect for the WWE Champion, he apologized. But even after that, he was kicked from behind. Lawler said he wanted an apology from C.M. Punk. Punk asked why the WWE Champion would apologize for doing his job. Punk said he justifiably beat The Rock because of the lack of respect he showed him. Punk said Lawler turned his back on the WWE Universe when he turned his back on the WWE Champion. Punk said he puts down anyone who disrespects him. Punk apologized because apparently all it takes in the WWE to make the Hall of Fame is beating a bunch of nobodies in Memphis and acting like a 14 year old juvenile all his WWE career. Punk said he's sorry for the man that he became. Punk said it looked like Lawler wanted to fight, but Punk would just embarrass him. Punk said the decision was his and walked away. Lawler said he would think about it.

Re-Booking Brock Lesnar

Remember back in April when rumors started to surface of a Brock Lesnar return to the WWE? The internet was a buzz with talk of Lesnar coming back. People were excited about the possible matches he would have with John Cena, C.M. Punk, Undertaker, and hell, even Triple H. Many thought Lesnar would be a boost to WWE TV and get former fans who left for UFC back into the product. With the $5 million dollar contract the WWE gave Lesnar, even they were expecting big things from him.

But be honest, how many people are actually satisfied with what Lesnar has done so far? The intrigue was there with Cena, but his feud with HHH just didn't click at all. And what is the worst part? We will more than likely be getting another rematch. But not before weeks of "speculation" on whether Triple H will retire or not. But the Triple H debacle is another story. The fact is, Lesnar's limited dates are affecting his perception among WWE fans. We get that he doesn't want to be around every week. And I agree with that. If you want to make Lesnar a big deal and a money draw for you, you don't have him appear every week. But they should have tried to get a few more dates out of him.

The RAW Truth Review for 8/20/12

Coming off a lackluster week of wrestling, the WWE looks to start a new tonight. Unfortunately, it looks like we are going to get the continuation of a lot of feuds from SummerSlam. So much for hoping for something fresh and exciting last night.

More Two Word Promos!
RAW started with Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman. Heyman talked about how HHH fought through a torn quad, but couldn't fight through Brock Lesnar. Lesnar forced HHH to quit last night. Quit on his family, company, friends and fans. Lesnar stripped HHH of his dignity and man hood. Heyman said it was a fight to the finish, a finish HHH asked for when he told Scott Armstrong to let things go before the match. Heyman asked Scott Armstrong to come to the ring. Armstrong reluctantly came to the ring. Heyman said last night he had two words for Triple H, tap out. Tonight, Lesnar had two words for Armstrong: good job. Heyman called Lesnar the new King of Kings and the Conqueror of the WWE Universe. Brock and Heyman left.

WWE SummerSlam Review

Antonio Cesaro defeated Santino to win the United States Championship. I didn't get a chance to watch the match, but the WWE did the smart move here. No point in keeping the Title on Santino when he is doing nothing with it.

Dolph Ziggler vs Chris Jericho
Vickie introduced Ziggler to start the show. Jericho chased Ziggler around the ring then caught Ziggler with an elbow back in the ring. Jericho took Ziggler down again with a shoulder tackle and Flair chop. Jericho went for a suplex but Dolph countered and landed a kick to the ribs. Ziggler started to work over Jericho's injured ribs. Ziggler threw Jericho into the ropes but Jericho stopped himself and he tossed a charging Ziggler over the ropes. Jericho charged at Ziggler but Ziggler moved and Jericho landed hard on the outside. Ziggler hit a drop kick to the ribs. Ziggler hit a splash in the corner then a neckbreaker. Jericho ducked Ziggler charging in the corner and started to comeback, but Ziggler went back to the ribs. Jericho hit a fameasser for two. Jericho caught one of Ziggler's legs and went for the Walls of Jericho but Ziggler countered. Ziggler eventually locked in the sleeper hold.

WWE SummerSlam Preview

This Sunday is the WWE's biggest party of the summer. Don't expect too much craziness though, this is a PG party. SummerSlam takes place this Sunday from its traditional home of the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The WWE has actually booked a handful of matches in advance for this PPV, unlike Money in the Bank in July that only had four advertised matches heading into the show.

For those of you that read my piece from last week, you know that to me, this PPV is lacking a big four feel. And the WWE did no favors for themselves with the final build on RAW this past Monday. Nothing new was accomplished in the WWE Title feud. The Jericho/Ziggler program stayed in neutral. And the Lesnar/HHH feud leads me to my biggest fear: Triple H is going over Brock Lesnar this Sunday. Nothing has been show stealing headed into this show. Last year we had two big time Title matches. This year the Title matches don't feel big time at all.

The RAW Truth Review for 8/13/12

Can the WWE continue their streak of good wrestling on 3 hour RAWs? Will they give us one final good push heading into SummerSlam to make it feel like a big PPV? I guess we will have to wait and find out...

Hold On A Minute Playa...
RAW actually started with a match: C.M. Punk vs Big Show. After Big Show shoved Punk down early, Punk went to work with an array of punches and kicks before Show came back with a head butt. Punk tried fighting back after a Big Show slap but was taken down by a shoulder tackle. Punk tried fighting back again but ate a head butt and bodyslam. Punk moved out of the way of a back slam from Show in the corner and hit his high knee. Punk went for the bulldog but Show threw him away and hit a spear.

Does This SummerSlam Feel Like A Big Time PPV?

We are just over a week away from SummerSlam, and I hate to say it, I'm just not that excited. The WWE calls it the biggest party of the summer, and traditionally considered the second biggest PPV of the year. But while the event may still turn into a big party, it does not feel like a big time PPV. Sure, the WWE will make some great promo videos like they always do to make it feel big. But when you look at the card and break down the build, you come to realize that the card just doesn't have a big PPV feel to it.

Lets start with the Brock Lesnar/Triple H match. How long has this match been built for? Since May when Lesnar "broke" Triple H's arm. But the problem the WWE ran into was that they signed Lesnar to a limited date deal. They had to watch and carefully place when they had Lesnar appear. But you are telling me that they couldn't have had Lesnar show up at least once in June? While Paul Heyman being there helped out some, it didn't hide the fact that Lesnar wasn't there. Heyman needs to be there because Brock can't cut a promo for his life. But why not have Lesnar show up just once and maybe jump Hunter. While Heyman has been good on the mic, it turned into the same thing every time he appeared.

The RAW Truth Review for 8/6/12

Its Shawn Michaels Appreciation Night, at least off camera. Can't we just have 3 hours of HBK matches instead of a regular 3 hour RAW? It would probably end up being a better show.

I Didn't Invent the Time Machine for Financial Gain!
After a video recap of last week's show and pyro (with nothing starting on fire), A.J. came out. She announced Big Show vs Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan vs John Cena for later. C.M. Punk interrupted. Punk said he's man enough to admit when he makes a mistake. He said he was out there to apologize to A.J. because he lost his emotions last week. He said she does not deserve to be dis-respected just like he does't deserve to be dis-respected as WWE Champion. She accepted, and said she's bound to fall on her face sometimes like she did last week by making the Triple Threat Match at SummerSlam. He asked her to cancel the match. A.J. said the decision stands. He asked if this was revenge for rejecting her. Punk continued to make his plea until Cena interrupted.

The RAW Truth Review for 7/30/12

The first regular three hour RAW of the WWE Era. C.M. Punk will start the show, whenever that is. Apparently the RAW set started on fire and the building had to be evacuated. See, it is all proof that God doesn't want RAW to be three hours.

RAW: Now With Promos On Tables
After an extended recap of last week's show and video of the set fire from earlier, C.M. Punk came out to a decent response. C.M. Punk said that everyone talks about wanting a Wrestlemania Moment, but last week he had a RAW Moment. Before he explained his actions, C.M. Punk addressed how Jerry Lawler ended last week's RAW. He said Punk turned his back on the WWE Universe. Punk went to the announce table. He asked Lawler how he jumped to such a conclusion. Punk said The Rock is not the WWE Universe. He's one delusional movie star who showed him a lack of respect. Rock interrupted him, ignored him, and acted like he was just going to take the WWE Title from him. Then at the end of the night, Dwayne tried to make the show all about him. Then at the end of the show Punk put him in his place. And now what? Rock has stayed silent and the 1000th episode of RAW ended how every show should end, with the spotlight on the WWE Champion.

The RAW Truth Review for 7/23/12

This is going to be fun. I cannot wait for this show to begin. LETS DO THIS!

An awesome opening by the WWE Production Crew. These guys are awesome.

Dolph Ziggler Was In D-X?
Vince McMahon came out to start the show. He welcomed everyone to RAW and introduced D-X. Shawn said he had to catch his breath. He said he feels it, but something is missing. Triple H agreed. He asked if there used to be more of them. Out came Billy Gunn, Road Dogg and X-Pac. Road Dogg did his traditional entrance. Triple H said he will see everyone when they hit 2000 episodes, and to get ready to suck it. Billy Gunn and Shawn Michaels argued over who would do the next part. HHH ripped on HBK for posing for Playgirl.

A Look Ahead to the 1000th Episode of RAW

Hey, did you guys now that episode of 1000 of RAW is tomorrow night? You think the WWE would do a better job of promoting it. How will they expect people to know the show starts at 8, or that all the big stars from the past will be on? Or that the WWE Title will be defended? What is the WWE thinking?

All sarcasm aside, tomorrow is the first time in a very long time that I can say I am looking forward to watching RAW. More than likely, it will be one of the few times I look forward to writing about these three hour RAWs. The WWE will pull out all the stops tomorrow night. They know they will have a large viewing audience, bigger than normal. That means the WWE has a big opportunity ahead of them. Not only to give the fans a treat with the stars of the past, but also to keep new viewers around by showcasing the stars of today. I would like to see some actual wrestling on the show. Give your current stars an opportunity to show what they got.

The RAW Truth Review for 7/2/12

Holla holla holla player. Teddy Long is the GM of this week's RAW, and wouldn't you know, he made a tag match for the main event tonight! At leasts it is a good one: Chris Jericho and Daniel Bryan vs John Cena and C.M. Punk. Hopefully they at least get some time to actually wrestle. Oh, and Brock Lesnar responds to Triple H's SummerSlam challenge tonight. I expect a pre-recorded response from Lesnar.

A Book Of One Liners By Kane
After a recap of last week's events, John Cena came out. Cena thanked Big Show and Chris Jericho for the beatdown last week. He said anything can happen at Money in the Bank, and they showed him that last week. Cena said he stands by everything he said last week, that he will win the WWE Title Ladder Match and become WWE Champion. Suddenly, Daniel Bryan came out chanting YES. Bryan said Cena isn't relevant to him. Bryan said at MITB, he will become WWE Champion. Bryan said if Cena manages to win the WWE Title MITB contract, his relevance to him is that Cena will become the first person to win a MITB match and lose. Cena said he can think of at least one person who disagrees with him.
