After last night's abysmal PPV, what could the WWE do to make it better? Well, who really knows. Your guess is as good as mine.
Have A Nice Day!
Mick Foley of all people came out to start the show. Foley said that as the Board of Directors looks for a new permanent GM, they would be reaching out to past GMs for the time being. Foley said he will be GM of both RAW and Smackdown this week. He made a tag team match for later: C.M. Punk and Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan and Kane. He then welcomed John Laurinaitis to give his farewell address. Laurinaitis came out in a neckbrace, arm sling and crutch. The crowd chanted "YOU GOT FIRED." Laurinaitis tried to quiet the crowd to no avail. He then asked Mick Foley to quiet them down. Laurinaitis said they were being rude. He said before he was fired, he made a handicap match: Big Show, David Otunga and Himself vs John Cena. Laurinaitis told Foley to have a nice day and left.
Segment Analysis: I'm okay with the past GMs coming back for the time being. I'm assuming we get a permanent replacement at the 100th episode of RAW. We will probably see Mike Adamle return. That's what I'm looking forward to. Nothing new from Foley. Might see more of an involvement later in the show. Survey Says: 2.5/5
Sheamus and C.M. Punk both stared and smiled at Laurinaitis walking to the ring.
Looks Like the WWE Has An Idea for A New Movie
Sheamus and Bryan started the match. Bryan ducked a charging Sheamus and he went over the ropes, but Sheamus caught him with a catapult spear. Sheamus hit a backbreaker and tagged in Punk. Bryan caught Punk's leg and took him out then tagged in Kane. Kane hit a corner clothesline then applied an armbar. Punk fought out. Punk caught Kane with a boot in the corner then knocked Bryan off the apron. Punk ran through the ropes and hit a dive on Bryan on the outside. Punk went for a springboard clothesline but Kane caught him with an upper cut into commercial.
Back from break, Punk caught Kane with a kick and tagged in Sheamus. Sheamus got some offense in before getting taken out. Bryan was tagged in and hit some kicks on Sheamus. Bryan tagged in Kane. Kane hit a sideslam for two. Kane went to the top and hit a clothesline for two. Kane tagged Bryan back in. Bryan hit some kicks but Sheamus moved in the corner and tagged in Punk. Punk hit a scoop slam, running high knee and bulldog. Punk went to the top but Bryan knocked him down and hit a superplex. Suddenly A.J.'s music hit and she pranced around the ring wearing a Kane mask, distracting Kane. Bryan then ate a GTS and Brogue Kick, giving the faces a win.
Segment Analysis: What the hell is going on with A.J.? Its turning into a weird horror movie. Decent tag match. It looks like this stuff is getting extended to Money in the Bank. Nothing to write home about. This is having the feeling of a continuation show. Don't expect too much new. Survey Says: 3/5
Backstage Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler argued over Vickie. Vickie came in and decided to make a decision. She said they would fight one on one for her affections.
John Laurinaitis told Big Show that Show will knock out Cena and Laurinaitis will pin him, promising a lasting impression everyone will never forget. Show didn't find it funny.
I Think Dolph Could Do Better
Swagger vs Ziggler. The two shoved each other and Dolph applied a headlock. Swagger tossed Ziggler and Ziggler "tweaked" his knee and Swagger started to work it over. Swagger applied a modified leg hold. Swagger showed off and Ziggler went for a quick role up that only got two. Ziggler went for the fameasser but Swagger moved and applied the ankle lock. Ziggler was in it a while and but countered it and hit the Zig Zag from behind for the win.
Segment Analysis: This is something that could have actually been built into a feud and a decent PPV match, but instead it gets about five minutes on RAW. That's dumb. Again, nothing to write home about except that I now fear that Swagger will be pushed even further down the card. Ziggler doesn't need Vickie, but he gets her anyways. Survey Says: 2/5
I'd Have A Spot For Stephanie In My Company Too
Paul Heyman came out. Heyman said Brock Lesnar does not cater to Triple H, and he said No to dropping the lawsuits against the WWE and Brock fighting HHH at SummerSlam. Heyman went to leave but Triple H came out. Hunter said this isn't a bingo hall and he isn't one of his cronies drinking his kool aid. Hunter said Lesnar will fight him at SummerSlam. Hunter said he can make Lesnar the star of SummerSlam. Hunter showed a poster of Lesnar for SummerSlam. Heyman said Lesnar has no ego. Hunter laughed and said he knows Lesnar has an ego. Hunter said if Lesnar doesn't fight, Lesnar will go down as the guy afraid to fight HHH. Heyman said Hunter isn't the king of anything. Heyman said Hunter is getting more like Vince every day. Heyman begged Hunter to hit him, then said in his WWE there was no room for him, but there was something for Stephanie. Hunter grabbed Heyman. Heyman said he knows everything Hunter will do, then Hunter laid out Heyman. Hunter told Heyman to tell Brock he will see him at SummerSlam, unless Brock's afraid the same thing will happen to him.
Segment Analysis: So apparently Brock and HHH still aren't fighting at SummerSlam in HHH's mind, even though nothing was agreed upon. Imagine HHH showing up at SummerSlam and Lesnar not being there. Just a whole lot of run around again until Lesnar comes back. Heyman was good with his Stephanie line. But again, nothing new. Which is what I was hoping for tonight. Survey Says: 2.5/5
Alberto del Rio made quick work of Santino. Didn't I see this like three weeks ago?
Cyndi Lauper and Wendi Richter came out. They started talking and Heath Slater came out. For some reason, Heath Slater started singing. Roddy Piper came out. He presented her with a gold record, the one he smashed over Capt. Lou Albano's head 27 years ago. Slater started singing again so Piper punched him and Lauper hit him with the gold record. Umm, okay.
Primo and Epico beat The Prime Time Players by countout. The crowd was dead silent. Why should we care about a random Primo and Epico face turn? Oh, maybe because Rosa is hot? Dumb dumb booking.
R.I.P. People Power
John Laurinaitis came out and called everyone losers. He said after tonight, the next time everyone will see him is when he is inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Big Show thanked Laurinaitis for everything he's done for him. Big Show said he answers to no one know, including John Laurinaitis. He said there was no reason for him to compete tonight. Show said he is moving on to better things and walked out. Cena took it to Otunga early. Every time Otunga went to tag Laurinaitis moved away. Cena missed a shoulder charge and went into the apron. Otunga tossed him into the steps. After Otunga softened Cena up he tagged in Laurinaitis, who revealed to be faking all his injuries. Laurinaitis kicked Cena and got a two count. He went to tag Otunga but he walked out. Cena hit three Attitude Adjustments on Laurinaitis then made him tap out to the STF.
Segment Analysis: So last night was suppose to be the last time we saw Laurinaitis, but we get the same thing we got on the PPV last night again tonight? Why? I don't even know what the difference was between this and No Way Out. Survey Says: 1/5
OVERALL
Just a terrible episode of RAW. Its like the WWE just decided to take everything from last night and barely add anything to it and just lazily booked tonight's show. Outside of the tag match nothing was worthwhile. Triple H seemes to think he's fighting Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam even though he isn't. The legends stuff wasn't great this week and almost everything in the second hour seemed like filler. Nothing was advanced and instead the WWE stayed in neutral tonight. Show gets a 2. Even Mick Foley, as acting GM for the night, only appeared in one segment. What a waste.
Until Next Time,
